Acme Football Academy – 2 defeated Adimas FC – 0
On 3rd November 2012 at St.Mary’s Higher Secondary School Ground

Once again Vicky’s(Vignesh) brace made all the difference in a evenly contested match against the Adimas Fc. Our teams’ pressing was not as good as the earlier matches. It was not one of our best matches but Vignesh’s goal scoring form continued. Both the goals were scored in the first half. The first goal was sweetly timed shot from just inside the box. The second goal was deflected off the defender from close range. Once again our defense was at its best as they secured another clean sheet. At the interval the score was 2-0.

Our boys took the field with loads of confidence. This was very evident from high percentage ball possession and some smooth inter passing. The first goal was scored by Sethu Raja from the free kick 25 yards away after which it was all Vignesh with his 2nd hat-trick. Vignesh’s first goal was a superb solo effort. The second one was a clever lobbed header from Sethu Raja’s free kick. His third goal was from the counter attack. The Other goal was scored by Sonai Muthu. We were very pleased with the result and more so for second consecutive clean sheet. During the half time the score was 2-0. Video of Vicky’s goal

3rd MATCH
Acme Football Academy – 2 defeated Ismail Memorial FC – 0
On 27th October 2012 at St.Mary’s Higher Secondary School Ground

The match between Our Academy and the Ismail memorial FC was evenly poised. The Ismail FC boys were physically stronger like all other opponents. Our boys pressed well through out the match. Our striker Vignesh made all the difference with a brace. He was unlucky not to score his second hat-trick.( He already scored all the 4 goals in the last league match in the last season). It was a comfortable win after two heavy defeats. The boys were very focused for the next match on Sunday the 28th against Kittu Memorial FC. During the half time the score was 1-0.

2nd Match

Our Academy team played their 2nd match of the league on 14th evening against the Sports Hostel team and lost 0-5.At the end of the 1st half the score was 0-1. The Sports Hostel team was more experienced and far better than our boys. They were older and were more physical. Despite the loss we gained valuable experience. It was very pleasing to see our boys work as a team. Our boys played for each other and made life difficult for the Sports hostel boys. Our pressing was excellent and when we got the ball back we played some lovely passing game. We were very pleased as these were the areas we have been working on during our training sessions. Overall it was another good learning experience.

1st Match

The Madurai District Football Association League (MDFA) – “C”Division started on 13th October 2012. Acme Football Academy started this year campaign against the Redeem FC. Our Academy boys are the youngest participants the average age being 13 years so there were no high targets. Our main aim is to get match experience for our boys. The opponents were bigger in size and age. As expected our team lost the match 4-0 but they were not humiliated. We hope to get better as the league progresses.
